Introduction
Thomas Carli Jarlier is the owner of the internationally renowned tattoo studio Noire Ink, located in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Thomas is recognized as a pioneer in blending opaque grey and grey wash techniques in both realistic and abstract/realistic tattoo styles. He is especially known for creating tattoos with a level of detail and depth that closely resembles photography.
As he describes it, tattooing is « capturing an emotion and a moment on the client’s skin, where each stroke holds meaning for both the visual and the soul. » He specializes in large-scale compositions and hyper-realistic portraiture.
In addition to tattooing clients from around the world, Thomas is dedicated to sharing his knowledge and passion for the craft with fellow tattoo artists globally. As he puts it, « You don’t choose to be a tattooist — tattooing chooses you. » For him, it is more than a profession; it is a passion, an obsession, and a way of life.
